An exquisite edition for bibliophiles and lovers of illustrations of this romantic narration detailing a journey through the Pyrenees by Francis Jammes.
Decorated with illustrations drawn by Grau-Sala and drypoint etched by Dominique Viglino.
Printed on high quality paper, every page is illustrated with allegorical drawings.
The piece contains various series of illustrations (some foldout) outwith the text from the beginning to the end of the volume. Examples number 15 to 450 continuously.
This issue is also unique as it contains an original drawing by Grau-Sala in its early pages, an etching on silk of one of the illustrations, and two chalcographic copper plates corresponding to two prints which can be seen on the doublures of the book. All of this bound in calf with an accompanying case.
Excellent condition. A european bibliophilia treasure.
