One of the first histories of Navarra
First edition of this magnificent history of the Kingdom of Navarra, written by André Favyn.
A valued piece within the context of Basque-Navarran history as the author is a frenchman with ties to Lower Navarre.
Beautiful chalcographic title page created by L. Gautier featuring an allegory to the Navarran coat of arms and the towns of Pamplona and Jaca. Well-housed in a calf binding with raised bands, gilting and lettering piece on the spine.
A piece that is difficult to find in such condition today. Practically non-existent in public libraries.
